The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions is seeking applications from suitably qualified and interested individuals to be considered for appointment as a chairperson or member to the Multicultural Business Ministerial Council (MBMC).
The MBMC is a forum for government to interact with Victoria's multicultural business sector and aims to boost the use of government's support services across the state. By providing input on government policies and services for multicultural businesses, the MBMC will influence innovation and growth in this sector, especially in a changing environment.

Small Business Victoria (SBV) is a branch of our Department that collaborates with organisations across the state to lead and coordinate effective and relevant policies and services that promote strong business growth. SBV fosters economic growth and job creation in Victoria by helping prospective business owners, self-employed Victorians and small and medium enterprises to succeed in an inclusive, fair and competitive business environment.
We work with partners to provide resources and expertise, both digitally and in-person to help business owners deal with the challenges and opportunities of a fast-changing business environment.
The MBMC is made up of a chairperson and 8 to 10 council members to advise the Minister for Small Business. The MBMC is expected to meet three times a year. Appointments are for a maximum fixed term of up to 3 years.
The chairperson and members are anticipated to collaborate effectively in a small, diverse group. Integrity is important and active participation is expected.
Flexible online attendance options for Council meetings will be available to members that require it.
Applications are sought from suitably qualified individuals with skills, attributes and experience as listed in the attached position descriptions.
