This is an exceptional opportunity to make a very real contribution to the protection of Australia’s unique wildlife and their habitat.

Bush Heritage Australia, an independent, leading conservation not-for-profit, is seeking an Events and Visitation Support Officer to work within our Marketing and Engagement team.

About the organisation

Our vision of Healthy Country, Protected Forever sees us work where we are needed most: in areas of high conservation value with low levels of protection. With the help of our donors, we buy and manage land, so we can protect our irreplaceable landscapes and our magnificent native species forever.

Currently we own 37 reserves and we protect and help manage 11.3 million hectares of land across the country. In our mission to return the bush to good health, we provide habitat for 6,700 native species, including at least 226 threatened species. Two proven approaches underline what we do: we carefully select, purchase and manage landscapes of high conservation value; and we work in partnership with Traditional Owners and others to achieve key conservation outcomes.

About the role

Our Events and Visitation programs sit within the Fundraising and Engagement Team and play a major role in achieving our goals, through engaging and inspiring people in our work. The Events and Visitation Support Officer will work across both programs, providing essential administration and logistical support.

The Events Program is responsible for delivering core Bush Heritage events for the purpose of engaging with our supporters and broader audiences. These activities take place in regional and city locations and on-line platforms. The Visitation Program is responsible for delivering a range of property-based activities such as self-guided day visits, camping stays and guided trips. These take place on Bush Heritage properties across the country.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working in similar role or with demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Ability to multitask and work to deadlines across both programs.
  • Resourceful, self-driven and highly organised, with high level of initiative and creative problem solving.
  • Excellent administrative skills including use of Sharepoint, Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher, and CRM databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships with people at all levels.
