role purpose

The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator is to coordinate Brainwave Australia’s range of activities to support to families and children with brain injuries and illnesses.

key responsibilities

Stakeholder management

  • Build and maintain relationships with key staff at children’s hospitals
  • Build and maintain relationships with families
  • Coordinate the Parent Advisory Group
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues
  • Represent Brainwave in networks and consultations 

Program impact and development

  • Support the improvement of Brainwave’s programs, including growing Brainwave’s national footprint
  • Support the development of new projects and programs

Quality and compliance

  • Compliance with Brainwaves policies, procedures, professional standards and ethics
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement and support NDIS accreditation processes
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, in all matters in relation to Brainwave Australia and our participants

Reporting

  • Maintain up to date records in Salesforce
  • Provide program information as requested
  • Attend team meetings
  • Report monthly to the Family Services Manager

In hospital support

  • Liaise with families and children’s hospital staff for registration and support needs
  • Coordinate resources, tool and information for parents at hospitals and online
  • Coordinate Bear Essential Packs distributed via hospitals
  • Coordinate emergency accommodation and meal vouchers

Whole of family support

  • Coordinate family activities, including family days, Brainwave Camp, Christmas parties
  • Review equipment and therapy applications and coordinate their approval process
  • Coordinate volunteers for events

Communications

  • Support Brainwave communications, including e-newsletters
  • Support funding/fundraising submissions with information
  • Coordinate communications with families
