The Birchtree Centre is a collaborative Centre of trauma specialists, running programs of individual therapy, group therapy and evidence based adjunct therapies in the treatment of Complex Trauma. The Clinical Registrar Program is offered at 2 days per week, with one being a Saturday, it is a contractor position with a competitive pay rate.
Room rent is offered at a reduced rate, with the first 4 weeks free to get you started. All referrals will be provided by the centre, and registrars will be supervised in the provision of treatment for complex trauma, addictions and eating disorders.
These positions are open to graduates who are interested in expanding their knowledge and confidence in working within these domains.
During the registrar program, all registrars will be supervised at least fortnightly on site by one of the Co-Directors of Birchtree Centre of Excellence: Jace Cannon-Brookes and Dr Sophie Reid, with capacity for more supervision as needed. There is also an opportunity to attend peer group supervision.
Birchtree Centre now spans across two locations, Forest Lodge and Pymble. The Registrar program will be offered at both locations, please indicate your preference when applying, though note that your preference is not guaranteed. Opportunities throughout the year will be available to network with colleagues from both sites with group training days being offered to all Birchtree clinicians.
Registrars will also be expected to attend all four Masterclasses offered throughout the year, as well as the two-day Long Limbs of Trauma training – these are offered for free to those on the Birchtree Clinical Registrar Program. There’s also the opportunity for Registrars to assist with the Trauma Support Groups.
Previous experience and demonstrated interest in working with: Developmental Trauma, Eating Disorders, Domestic Violence, Addictions, Adolescents.
