POSITION OBJECTIVE

Big Group Hug is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Individual and Regular Giving Coordinator in a part-time capacity, working from home and/or our Thomastown location, when required. The position will commence as an 18-month contract and may be renewed.

The primary focus of this role is to grow the cash and regular giving donor base, driving donor progression through the giving pipeline to exceed revenue targets. This includes strengthening donor care and engagement, collaborating with the Digital Marketing Coordinator on lead generation initiatives, and working alongside the Manager – Fundraising and Communication to enhance donor journeys and support the development of the bequest program.

The successful applicant will have proven experience in regular and cash giving, with a solid understanding of donor care and acquisition and retention strategies. You will have drive, vision, enjoy working in a small collaborative team focused on ensuring families in need receive aid.

ABOUT BIG GROUP HUG

Big Group Hug’s mission is to mobilise community support to respond to the immediate needs of vulnerable children and their families. We provide free essential material aid for children aged newborn to 16 years through our extensive network of welfare agencies and community organisations.

Founded in 2014, our head office is based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, in Thomastown, supported by satellite locations in Airport West and Tarneit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Produce three annual fundraising appeals and support Double Donation Day, with a focus on supporter conversion, donor retention, average gift and new to file donor uplift.
  2. Manage the editorial content and production of the monthly supporter newsletter and quarterly volunteer and caseworker newsletters in line with the supporter stewardship strategy.
  3. Management of regular giving acquisition campaigns, supported by Digital Marketing Coordinator.
  4. Manage the regular giving declines process.
  5. Develop donor journeys, alongside Manager, leading to uplift and conversion.
  6. Donor care actions including calling where needed or highlighting key supporters to senior staff.
  7. Build relationships with new and existing individual donors.
  8. Execute strategies to retain and upgrade, incl sending thank yous, supporter survey and impact reports and personalised updates alongside Manager.
  9. Assist with donor appreciation events and fundraising activities.
  10. Work with the team to develop and update as necessary donor centric content and collateral.
  11. Monthly reporting on donor acquisition and fundraising target.
  12. Support the Fundraising Manager in developing and implementing the Gifts in Wills program.
  13. Support the Digital Marketing Coordinator in developing lead acquisition.
  14. Support goods drive campaigns and donor/volunteer events as required.
  15. Assist with building capabilities and skills within the team to enhance workforce capabilities.
  16. Collaborate with the wider team around development and implementation of new initiatives.

CAPABILTIES AND BEHAVIOURS

  • Ability to think strategically about the role of cash and regular grants within the organisation and execute operationally.
  • Strong relationship management skills with a proven ability to build meaningful relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to inspire others and contribute to the cause of an organisation.
  • Strong proficiency in record management and exceptional writing skills.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in fundraising
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experience crafting appeal communication and donor journeys
  • Experience with MS Office/Sharepoint, Salesforce or similar CRM, and Campaign Monitor or similar email software.

Highly Desirable

  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
  • Thoughtful and respectful in collaborating with individuals with lived experience and sharing their stories with care.
  • Relevant qualification in fundraising or marketing.
  • FIA Code Course
