Bethany South West provides a range of community services to vulnerable families and individuals across the Southwest and Wimmera Region. 

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Specialist Children's worker to join our Homeless Children’s Specialist Support Services (HCSSS)Team in Warrnambool.

The HCSSS provides an integrated and comprehensive assessment and casework service to children , with a particular emphasis on children with complex needs, and those impacted by homelessness and family violence.We are seeking an experienced case manager. 

The HCSSS incorporates a suite of support responses to children and families experiencing homelessness and/or family violence, including assessment and case planning support; enhanced case management and therapeutic group work for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide an integrated and comprehensive assessment and casework service to children, with particular emphasis on children experiencing homelessness and/or family violence.
  • Create, implement and review developmentally appropriate support plans, programs and services and ensure an appropriate standard of care, supervision, safety and support is provided.
  • Advocate on behalf of children and young people and facilitate their access to specialist, universal and community services as required.
  • Initiate and attend case management meetings with other professionals involved with children to ensure collaborative service delivery.
  • Facilitate playgroups and other group programs.
  • Ensure exit planning and case closure is undertaken with consideration of risk factors to children.
  • To positively and professionally promote and represent the organisation internally and externally in a range of forums and meetings across the sector and with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure service complies with funding and service agreements, professional standards and relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.
  • To work collaboratively within the Family and Housing Services Team.
