About the Role

GetUp is recruiting for a Social Media Lead that reports directly to the Content Director and works closely with GetUp Campaigners and the Creative Team. The role will be involved in delivering and distributing social content that aligns with GetUp’s content strategy, to engage and grow their social media community.

About the Person

The ideal candidate will be someone who embraces building a community on social platforms as well as creating opportunities to reach and engage new audiences. You’ll be a trend whisperer, someone who can anticipate and jump on evolving digital trends. The candidate will understand the different audiences across platforms, have experience in writing copies for socials, as well as experience in implementing and executing social strategy.

Duties include:

• Creating, developing, and implementing a brand strategy that is aligned with the organisation’s strategy
• Creating content that is optimised for the social platforms to reach and educate the community on campaigns
• Leading and scheduling of high performing organic and paid digital content in coordination with campaigners
• Proactively leading the strategic distribution and moderation of digital content across new and existing platforms
• Testing, analysing, reporting, and responding to data trends of organic and paid content
• Leading the discovery of new audiences across digital platforms
• Contributing to a strong team culture of experimentation, innovation, and evaluation
• Assist in leading the content team to execute its strategy and meet its goals

To be successful you will have:

• A passion for growing and strengthening a movement of everyday people
• Experience devising and implementing social media strategies and management
• Experience growing audiences on a variety of social media platforms
• Experience working with stakeholders to produce high performing social content
• Ability to understand and listen to members and stakeholders and communicate this
• Excellent written communication skills, to be able to write engaging and compelling pieces
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Loves all things social media, data, and the internet
