About Council for Intellectual Disability (CID)
CID is a disability rights organisation led by people with intellectual disabilities. For more than 65 years CID has worked to ensure a community where all people with intellectual disabilities are valued.
The Role
This role's purpose is to lead the implementation and delivery of the More Than Just a Job project to empower and improve the lives of people with intellectual disability.
- Provide direction and management of a small team of project workers and officers
- Lead the team in line with practice frameworks including human rights, person-centred, participatory, and inclusion
- Support the delivery of training and workshops, ensuring materials, content and processes are up-to-date, accessible, and relevant
- Ensure the project is within budget and utilises budget in a sustainable manner
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to promote the project and workshops
- Implement contracts with government and non-government organisations to deliver projects in line with contract deliverables
- Participate in key leadership meetings and strategy discussions regarding risk, budgeting, funding, and business development
- Provide reports to Senior Management, Board & CEO as well as external funding bodies
What you bring to the role
- Strong people management skill - prior experience leading a team is essential
- Project management experience - understanding of working to deadlines, budgeting, expectations, and strategic planning
- Ability to facilitate and deliver engaging workshops and training material to a range of audiences
- Understanding of the disability space & commitment to CID's values of inclusion
- High level of communication and negotiation skills
- Confident using the Microsoft Office suite
- Working with Children Check (WWCC), Police Check and two COVID-19 Vaccinations (or medical documentation) is required for this role
