You will be based in Goonellabah, in Northern NSW, where you will be integral in leading and supporting the organisation through an exciting growth phase. Ideally you will be available to start in January/February 2016.

NRSDC is a social justice organisation based in Northern NSW. They have more than 40 years’ experience as a regional leader, advocating with the communities they work in; working in partnership with others; and providing services that promote inclusion, fairness and social justice. Their work encompasses homelessness and housing supports, youth and family services, programs that promote genuine participation for people with disability, community sector support, professional development, and systemic advocacy.

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for providing high level financial support, strategic advice and analysis.  This role is also responsible for providing leadership at a senior level across the organisation whilst leading and managing a small finance team.

We are seeking an experienced finance professional who has a passion for community services and is motivated by NRSDC’s vision and purpose.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Strategic financial management and analysis
  • Prepare and proactively assist with the management of budgets, forecasts and financial reports
  • Ensure financial compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Oversee the day to day financial operations and lead the finance team
  • Maintain internal and external relationships and contribute positively to NRSDC’s culture

Skills and attributes required to be successful in this role include:

  • Significant experience working at a CFO level
  • Experienced in providing strategic financial management and analysis
  • High level analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Understanding of financial management processes in a NFP organisation
  • Awareness of government funding and grants
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of the Social, Community, Home care and Disability Services industry award
  • A passion for developing and mentoring your team and communicating in a manner that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment

The salary for this role is $75k - $85k + super, including a vehicle and petrol.
