We are the TOM Co. A female founded company that exists to create a positive impact across personal and baby care.

Encompassing TOM Organic & tooshies by TOM, we are an Australian owned business that exists because of the local community we operate in. There is a passionate team of women behind the brand who care about the good work that we do.

Our vision is to empower a community of women across generations to make conscious choices. We aim to build brands and deep connection through our products as well as our supply chain. As one of the first Australian B Corps we believe that business can be a force for good, and we deliver on that through aligning our product, with a genuine care for people and the planet.

The TOM Co Business

Founded by Aimee Marks, TOM Organic launched in 2009 and over the past 9 years has expanded its range of organic fem hygiene products into tooshies by TOM with eco nappies and wipes. Sold through FMCG channels primarily in Australia, the business has firmly established its place on supermarket shelves around the country and is at the forefront of the wider health and wellbeing trend. Looking to the future, the business is aiming for significant growth both domestically and overseas, in current and future categories. To achieve this the business is looking for a capable and dynamic CEO to lead this next phase of growth.

There are three areas which will be critical to getting right with this important role.

Strong Capability To Power Our Growth

We are looking to bring in capability which will drive our successful expansion into international markets and new products, while building a solid base in core markets & products. This will require us to scale up in our production, distribution and team.

We are looking for demonstrated experience in:

  • Leading through high growth and change
  • It would be beneficial if you had seen a business scale first-hand
  • Initiating and negotiating commercial contracts which facilitate international distribution
  • Strong financial and risk governance
  • Transition to different organisational structures

Given the growth aspirations of the business, the CEO position requires a varied skill set and strategic business leadership to motivate and inspire. We also require these key capabilities as a foundation:

  • Financially competent
  • Understand the critical importance of brand
  • Open to learning and leading a mission-led business
  • Contract manufacturing and supply chain implications
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with a Leadership Team of 5 senior team members
  • FMCG experience preferable but not mandatory

Ability To Deliver On The Remit

The remit of the CEO is to lead the vision and drive the strategy to deliver our company aspiration to grow by a factor of 10 in the next 5 years.

Responsibilities involve active leadership, problem solving, and rolling up your sleeves to guide and support all functions of the business including:

  • Branded Marketing across TOM Organic & tooshies by TOM
  • New product development
  • Supply chain through our off-shore contract manufacturers
  • Supplier relationship building
  • Financial management of a self-funded SME
  • Sales management through our network of Australian customers including Coles, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, Distributors and E-Commerce channels
  • Impact activation and communication
  • Risk management
  • People and culture leadership
  • Export development
  • Governance with the Board

Recruitment for this key role will take place between August and December 2018 with the ideal candidate in place early 2019.
