The Sociable Weaver Group includes four businesses – Small Giants Developments, The Sociable Weaver, The Nest Workshop, and Martin Builders. Our vision is to connect people with community, nature and themselves through the built environment. We are currently a team of 50+ across our four businesses which are growing rapidly.
The finance team supports all businesses in The Sociable Weaver Group which includes 9 entities. It’s the role in finance to ensure healthy, sustainable growth of these businesses for a successful future based upon a triple bottom line: planet, people and profit.
They are currently a small team of 4 split across two locations (St Kilda & Cape Patterson) however due to rapid growth they are looking for someone to come in on a 6-month contract, with the potential to extend to a permanent role.
The The Sociable Weaver Group is looking for an accounting professional who is self-motivated to hit the ground running, roll up their sleeves and help get some complex, meaningful work done. You might be passionate about sustainable living, the building industry, the start-up world, beautiful homes, BCorps or something else they do. The work you’ll do will include:
The role will report to the Group Financial Controller and will involve regular liaison with the two bookkeepers.
We’re looking for someone who combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting and pragmatic approach to supporting the business. The right person will be like minded in this space as well as have the skills. You do not need to have experience in the building sector, though an interest in what we do and desire to work in the business will make you better in the role.
