About your new role

You will be a qualified Physiotherapist and have current registration with the Board of WA.  You will assess the physical and functional mobility of residents to maximise their ability to lead a meaningful life.  You will develop innovative individualised Physiotherapy programs for our residents that will be delivered by yourself and our trained TLP (Therapy and Leisure Partner) in a recently created Physiotherapy Gym. We will provide comprehensive orientation to the role and ongoing supervision to support your development. This will include regular visits to work alongside our Physiotherapist at our other south west regional RAC sites. 

Duties including but not limited to:

• Delivers required physiotherapy treatment as identified by individual resident assessment
• Completes comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and regular reviews to identify residents’ needs as they relate to physiotherapy scope of practice
• Supports a multi-disciplinary team approach that prioritises the physical and emotional wellbeing of individual residents across the residential care facility. This includes contributing to case conferences.
• Provides leadership, guidance and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners, ensuring needs of the resident are met in accordance with the residents’ care plans, including therapeutic objectives.
• Models’ enablement of residents and provides direction and assistance to other staff members in performing their duties.
• Ensures appropriate equipment is available for use by allied health staff and contributes to the development of the yearly physiotherapy budget, in consultation with the Manager Residential Care

Skills and Experience

• Current full registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist
• An understanding and appreciation of contemporary Physiotherapy practice and issues in aged care
• An ability to collaborate, negotiate and contribute toward a multi-disciplinary team approach to care planning and delivery 
• An ability to relate to older people with empathy, understanding and affording dignity and respect
• Willingness to obtain or provide proof of 2023 Influenza & three (3) COVID-19 Vaccinations
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical
• Ability to pass a National Police Check
