Established in 1959, Baptist World Aid Australia partners with like-minded agencies overseas to empower communities to lift themselves out of poverty, challenge injustice and build resilience. We partner with Christians and churches in Australia, particularly those from the Baptist movement, in generous giving, ethical consumption, courageous advocacy and faithful prayer in order to achieve justice for people living in poverty. We do this from within a professional and enriching staff environment as we serve in the name of Jesus. The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a diverse team in the Finance & Operations department, in a position that is truly impactful and makes a difference. You will be responsible primarily for the creation, fulfilment and cancellation of recurring giving, and actively engaging with supporters and responding to queries. Your days will be varied and if you are truly passionate about providing excellent administrative support and building relationships, then this is the role for you.

What capabilities will help you succeed?

  • 3 years’ experience in an administration or donation processing role
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, take initiative, and work to deadlines in a professional and confident manner
  • Strong customer service skills, and ability to handle sensitive situations in a mature and effective manner by email and phone
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • An authentic committed Christian:

    • Able to understand, engage with and support the Biblical theology that informs the organisation’s development approach
    • Able to participate enthusiastically in prayer sessions, biblical reflection sessions and church services
