About the role

The IT Service Desk Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the BSV IT Service Desk including timely response to incidents and requests; problem management and change management. The Manager is the first point of escalation for users and coordinates team input to resolve incidents and provision support to meet availability targets. The Manager is responsible for communication, and the first point of contact, on planned changes and unplanned outages, including resolution of critical incidents.

Some after-hours IT support is required to undertake upgrades and updates and remediate incidents. Some travel may be required to repair or upgrade equipment at sites.

About you

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage and partner with a range of stakeholders
  • Effective prioritisation of activities and resources to meet availability targets and resolve incidents
  • Ability to lead communication on resolution of a state-wide critical incident
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, able to think creatively
  • Knowledge and experience in:
    • Service desk application and reporting
    • Windows Workstation Operating systems
    • Office 365
    • Microsoft Active Directory Administration
    • Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager
    • Core networking principles

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related field are required, as is a current Victorian driver’s license. A formal ITIL qualification, experience working a health environment and experience communicating with the Executive team is desirable.
