We’re looking for a professional Saver Plus Program Manager with management experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a 12-month contract with possible extension, working full time based in Fitzroy.

PROGRAM SUMMARY & OBJECTIVES

Saver Plus is a matched savings and financial education program. It assists people on lower incomes to build financial skills, develop life-long savings habits, and receive up to $500 to assist with education costs. The program was developed by Brotherhood of St Laurence and ANZ in 2003 and is delivered by community agencies. Over 55,000 people have joined Saver Plus, helping them save a combined $27 million, and ANZ have provided $23 million in matched savings. The program is funded by ANZ and the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

THE ROLE

The Saver Plus Program Manager plays a key role in high-quality, efficient and consistent delivery of the Saver Plus program by supporting service delivery agencies and leading a team of Saver Plus Coordinators.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop a cohesive and collaborative team who work together to achieve results and KPIs
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders including the Saver Plus National Office, Program Managers, ANZ, community groups and other relevant organisations
  • Monitor, provide day to day support and ensure that Saver Plus Coordinators are working in line with license arrangements, eligibility and participation rules and the coordinator’s manual

Salary will be in the range of $99,878.69 - $104, 287.75 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • A degree in business and commerce, community development, social work, public health or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in effective people management and building high performing teams
  • Relevant experience and expertise in program and project management
  • Proven experience in effectively managing service development and delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of direct reports
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with proven ability to build effective relationships and liaise across all levels both internally and externally and with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated understanding of community development principles including the issues of social and financial exclusion in Australia and familiarity with programs which seek to address these
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems, analyse and interpret information and make appropriate recommendations
  • Well-developed organisational and planning skills with the ability to plan workload, manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
  • Understanding of and empathy with the values and ideals of the Brotherhood.
