The NDIS Services division comprises of Local Area Coordination (LAC) and Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) services. The Brotherhood of St Laurence is a partner in the community delivering LAC and ECEI services in five areas across metropolitan Melbourne.
Local Area Coordination is a pivotal function in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). LAC provides planning and coordination to support people with disability exercising choice and control over the services they use. LAC promotes community inclusion and supports the development of mainstream services that are accessible to people with disability.
The Auslan Interpreter provides effective and efficient delivery of interpreting and related services across the NDIS Services division, assisting staff to undertake their work with people whose language preference is Auslan. Where capacity exists, the Auslan Interpreter will also support other areas across the Brotherhood, including interpreting for staff meetings and formal meetings where a need arises. This position will also be responsible for completing administrative tasks, reporting and assist with training with respect to raising awareness of deaf community issues.
Reporting to the Senior Manager LAC, this position will support participants and staff who require Auslan interpreting support in order to complete information gathering, planning, plan implementation and quality feedback activities.

This is a part time position working 19 hours per week.
Salary will be in the range of $67,286.36 - $73,746.76 per annum pro rata based on skills and experience plus superannuation. Attractive salary packaging provisions are available to increase take home pay.
