Come and work with our BeSafe Victoria Regional OHS team and help make workplaces safer for regional workers.
The position will be paid on the Clerks Private Sector Award casual rate commencing at level 2 and reviewed as the role and responsibilities develop over time. Superannuation will be paid at 12%.
The successful candidate should know their way around Microsoft Word and Excel, be able to send and receive professional email correspondence using Microsoft Outlook, also use Microsoft Outlook Calendar and be accurate in details, spelling and information entered and provided.
Work well under instruction and be details focused and accurate in tasks.
The Team is audited so attention to detail is very important – also things like names are spelled correctly on correspondence and certificates.
Must be able to photocopy, collate, bind booklets (with a binding machine) and perform other general office duties as directed.
A basic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety is essential – there is an opportunity to undertake paid HSR Initial OHS Training Course to further your understanding of the BeSafe Units functions and purpose.
This position is based at Ballarat Trades Hall, Ballarat Central, and you will be expected to uphold the values and conduct of the Hall and its affiliates in supporting and advocating for working people.
Some weeks will be busy and some quiet, so hours will be based on requirements and your availability.
The BeSafe Team advocates and assist workplaces and workforces in setting up Health and safety Structures, trains HSRs in the initial five day and one day refreshers and provides support to regional HSRs in carrying out their roles in making their workplaces safe.
The team is also now training Managers and Supervisors in the OHS Act and Industrial Manslaughter Legislation and their legal duties to provide safe workplaces.
You will be joining a team of a Unit Co-ordinator, a Comms and Marketing Co-ordinator and two OHS Trainers.
