We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager to join the team in a newly developed role working alongside the Chief Marketing Officer. This person will manage the establishment of a long-term philanthropy plan to implement and grow fundraising and donations across a range of fundraising initiatives.

This person will use their expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to develop and steward relationships with potential donors, manage fundraising campaigns and seek out fundraising opportunities. By coordinating campaigns, managing a calendar of activities, and working to a plan to introduce fundraising initiatives, this person will hone speaking, writing, and good stakeholder engagement.

Objectives of this role

• Plan and implement fundraising initiatives to attract both individual and major donors
• Manage an annual calendar of fundraising initiatives and campaigns
• Promote awareness of the organisation’s mission and work
• Cultivate a network of dedicated donors
• Be open to new fundraising opportunities
• Day-to-day stewardship and retention of existing and new donors

Required skills and qualifications

• Experience in fundraising, sales, or marketing
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to lead and motivate donors, colleagues and other stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, business, public relations, or related field
• Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising
• Competence with donor management systems
• Experience in writing, press releases, and fundraising letters
• Confidence in public speaking
• Skilled in using a CRM database and other software
