The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

This is a full-time, ongoing role and can be based in our Melbourne, Brisbane or Hobart offices working a hybrid arrangement.

About the role

An exciting new role in our Communications and Media team, the Visual Design Lead manages the branding identity and visual design direction for Ahpra and the National Boards. This is a specialised technical role with a balance of strategic leadership and hands on content creation. You will have a small team of specialists reporting to you, responsible for visual design, graphic design, user experience and content publishing.

  • is flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.  

Skills and experience 

The skills and experience you will bring to the role:  

  • Degree level qualification in communications / design or minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Advance skills in specialist design software
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex and diverse relationships
  • Demonstrated past experience managing a team
  • Experience in new/evolving media channels and platforms.
  • Previous experience in working in health, regulation or other government sectors (desirable)
