The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

Reporting to the Senior Regulatory Advisor – Registration (Process Specialist) the Regulatory Advisor – Registration (Process Specialist) is responsible for supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of procedural documentation and provide operational advice to registration teams and other stakeholders.  You will quickly become a subject matter expert across the full range of application, registration, and registrant management processes with a focus on Ahpra’s values and high performance.

The position will work closely with multiple departments to ensure high quality outcomes for registration procedures that align with the Regulatory Principles for the National Scheme, the National Law, registration standards, and guidelines. You will support the integration of best practice registration processes into national organisation policies and processes. This role will contribute to the development of policy and systems and support initiatives and projects to successfully execute registration work program activities.

In this role you will:

  • Provide operational advice across a range of registration matters
  • Support the design, development and implementation of a core operating and support systems as part of the transformation program
  • Develop, deliver and review processes, procedures, policy, templates and instructions
  • Take initiative to identify issues and opportunities in current procedures and policies affecting the delivery of consistent processes and takes appropriate steps to remedy them.
  • Use your research and analytical skills to quickly become a subject matter expert and provide consistent advice to the registration network to resolve enquiries and issues

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Degree or Diploma in Business and/or equivalent and relevant experience
  • Ability to work effectively across a range of multi-disciplinary teams and manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent research, conceptual and analytical skills as they relate to policy interpretation, procedure development, and implementation
  • Strong experience working in the delivery and/or support of a complex environment and delivery of operational excellence
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Have an ability to travel as required
