The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

The Corporate Governance and Compliance Manager (CGCM) is a central business partner responsible for providing strong corporate governance, risk management, integrity and compliance expertise to ensure Ahpra manages material obligations, internal and external change.

The CGCM will play a leadership role in the embedment of the Corporate Assurance Policy and the relevant frameworks and guidelines within this policy to support Ahpra manage strategic and key operational risk exposure.

About you

Success for you in this role will rely on your strong acumen when it comes to governance, assurance, risk management and compliance coupled with your exceptional ability to build and foster productive relationships with our internal and external stakeholders.

This role will partner with senior leadership and engage broadly across the business to identify, contextualise and manage material obligations, directives and commitments as they relate to corporate governance, integrity and compliance.

You have excellent judgement – you will analyse and interpret risk and opportunity to provide reports and data to our National Executive team and can speak with confidence and authority.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of the Corporate Assurance Policy and Corporate Compliance Framework.
  • Lead the engagement with national executives and national directors to identify, rationalise and manage corporate compliance obligations and commitments on behalf of Ahpra.
  • Lead corporate governance, compliance and assurance activities to meet NE and FARMC requirements.
  • Provide specialist advice, analysis and reports that can be relied upon by stakeholders to provide corporate governance and compliance management insights and decisions.
