Tuberous Sclerosis Australia

About the Organisation

TSC (Tuberous Sclerosis Complex) is a rare genetic condition that causes tumours to grow in major organs of the body. Signs and symptoms often change over a person’s lifetime and it affects more than 2,000 people in Australia and thousands more families and friends.

TSA (Tuberous Sclerosis Australia) is the only charity in Australia supporting people with TSC (Tuberous Sclerosis Complex). TSA is dedicated to helping create a better life and more hopeful future for everyone in Australia affected by TSC by providing knowledge, support and connection.

We directly support people affected by TSC and create a Community of people facing similar challenges who can support and learn from one another. We also provide people living with TSC with connections to expert health care professionals and relevant services.

We raise awareness of TSC and global research and advocate on issues such as access to health care and new treatments. A trusted expert, we are the go-to resource for information, advice and support for anyone in Australia affected by TSC.

TSA is a small but mighty organisation with three part-time staff and a voluntary Management Committee of six to eight people.

About the role

We have two vacancies on our Committee, one of which has additional responsibilities as Treasurer. For the Treasurer role, it is a hands-on position, which involves working closely with our CEO, our outsourced bookkeeping/accounting provider and as a member of our Investment Sub-committee.
