  • Provide advice and training on policies, procedures, risk, internal controls and emerging compliance issues;
  • Be responsible for record-keeping, liaising with regulators on behalf of the board and timely completion of any returns;
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments as well as evolving methodologies in corporate governance.

On your first day, we'll expect that:

  • You have shown success as a Compliance Officer, Governance Manager, Compliance Manager, Legal Secretary, Lawyer, Accountant or similar position;
  • You will be proficient in legal guidelines and corporate governance standard methodologies in the Charities and Not-for-Profit sector;
  • You are an active volunteer in your community or worked in a not-for-profit role previously;
  • You have the consistent record to work independently, collaborate with remote teams and thrive in a remote-work setup;
  • You possess sophisticated MS Office skills including Excel, and experience using Google Suite, Zoom or any other video conferencing tools;
  • Understanding of not-for-profit compliance requirements and awareness of Australian Charities legislation preferred

It's also great if:

  • You have experience using technologies such as Jira, Confluence, and Trello or any similar software
  • Have completed a graduate certificate or diploma at the Governance Institute of Australia, or equivalent
  • You have a finance or legal background (e.g. CA/CPA qualification)
