The Opportunity:

This position will be a mix between providing high level customer service and administration responsibilities.

You will provide specialised and individual support to a range of job seekers and employers to ensure that employment is sustainable for both parties to reach a positive outcome. The Work Support Mentor will facilitate timely and appropriate interventions and arrange for mediation if required, to ensure that the candidates placement in the employers’ organisation is a success. 

This role will require a candidate who has a mix between being able to show empathy and caring for the individuals they work with, along with the drive to achieve successful results.

Major Responsibilities will include:

  • Establish relationships with jobseekers and their respective employers, providing supports to sustain their employment for a minimum period of 6 months.
  • Identify interventions with jobseekers in instances of employment being at risk.
  • Analysing the risk to ongoing employment to develop appropriate Retention Plans for both job seekers and employers.

You will be given extensive training and opportunities to develop your career, giving you excellent grounding to succeed in this role. We will provide you access and the opportunity complete further studies, including a paid half day per week to complete your study. You will also be provided with on-the-job training and support from your managers and mentors and will have the opportunity to experience different areas within Employment Services broadening your career pathway.

  • Experience in case management, customer service, sales, or recruitment
  • Proven ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with Participants, peers, and relevant agencies.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and resilience to conflicting situations.
  • High level negotiation skills and the ability to think on feet in high pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated high level professionalism, attention to detail and compliance focused.
