About the role

Brand new children's services are opening in Cairns and surrounding suburbs including the Northern Beaches - Trinity Beach.

Reporting to the Service Leader, you will work within the Purpose and Values of Aruma. You will be part of a high performing Youth Support Team working towards delivering a positive customer experience to those in our care. We have Permanent Part Time and casual opportunities available.

Key Focus Areas

  • Provide direct care within a residential setting, ensuring a safe and nurturing home-like environment and promoting positive family relationships
  • You will have resilience to work within a trauma-informed framework that makes a real difference with young people who have complex needs and challenging behaviours

What you will need

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care), or equivalent or a willingness to complete study (click here to view more details)
  • Willingness to study Top Up Units Residential Care (4 Modules) through our RTO
  • Experience working with young people with complex behaviours encouraged to apply
  • Valid Qld driver's licence
  • Valid Australian working rights
  • Willingness to complete a Child Safety Screening Check
  • Hold (or are willing to obtain) a Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid and CPR qualifications.
  • A confirmation record of COVID-19 vaccination (dose 1, 2)

Skills and experience

  • Availability to work any rostered shifts across a 24/7 roster model, including awake nights and sleepovers
  • You are passionate about supporting young people who have experienced trauma and have a disability
