Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a compassionate, empathetic, and experienced professional to provide administrative and after-hours support to alleged offenders residing at The Arches Bail Accommodation Support Program. The successful applicant will use a person-centred framework to support participants in the transition from The Arches to alternative accommodation in the community. You will have demonstrable experience in supporting people who have experienced mental health issues, substance abuse issues and homeless and who have had contact with the criminal justice system alongside skills in administration and data entry.  

You will be multi-skilled and have the ability to interact with a broad diversity of people whilst working in a close team environment. What can you expect to be doing?

• Act as an after hours onsite contact point for participants of the Bail Accommodation Support Program (BASP).
• Work with Transition Facilitator who will be supporting clients to successfully transition to longer term accommodation.
• Maintain up-to-date files, records and other administrative systems.
• Prepare correspondence and other documentation as required.
• Pack up and fit out participant rooms to support facility occupancy.
• Utilise strong emotional intelligence to connect with and provide daily face-to-face contact with participants.

What do you need to bring?

• Certificate III in Community Services or a related field, and/or experience engaging with individuals who have complex support needs 
• Knowledge of community services sector in South Australia 
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external clients 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in conjunction with and be sensitive to the needs of people from diverse backgrounds, culture, religions, sexuality, and respond to the needs of people with multiple and complex needs 
• Availability to work Mon – Friday 3:30pm – 10:30pm and Saturday/ Sunday 10am – 6pm
