About the role

As the Case Coordinator in our Children’s Contact Service you will lead and promote the program to help clients utilise the service as a short term measure to achieve children’s contact with both parents in an emotionally supportive way. You will respond to queries for potential users of the service and provide intake and assessment. You will participate in the case management of families to ensure they receive appropriate service, progression, and referrals if necessary.

You will prepare written observational reports regarding supervised visits and changeovers and prepare written Family Law Court reports as requested by the Family Court of WA or Independent Children’s Lawyers. You will oversee receipting of fees and ensure secure cash handling is maintained during weekend service delivery. 

This is a part time opportunity (11.5 hours every second weekend), fixed term until 30 June 2024. This position is weekend hours only therefore the successful applicant must be willing and able to work Saturday and Sundays.

About you

You are a passionate and talented individual who is driven to deliver a high quality children’s contact service. 

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences/Psychology/Social Work or related discipline or Diploma in Children’s Contact Service Work
  • Experience in working in a team
  • Experience in working with adults and children from separated families
  • Ability to work well with adults and children
  • Ability to assess families for intake
  • Interpersonal skills including ability to gain cooperation from others; resolve conflict
  • Liaise and negotiate with clients, staff and other agencies
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of child development, parenting and attachment
  • Demonstrated understanding of domestic violence and child abuse dynamics

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police, a WA Drivers Licence, WA Working with Children Check and Provide First Aid.
