This is an exciting opportunity to join our small high performing People & Culture team during a busy time. Reporting to and mentored by the People & Culture Lead, the People and Culture Advisor will be responsible for supporting the implementation and optimisation of our HRIS and will be able to lead a range of process improvements. In addition to systems implementation, this varied and interesting generalist role will support a range of generalist tasks including recruitment, HR administration and support on a number of project-based People & Culture initiatives as we prepare for legislative change.

This role is ideally suited to an efficient and detail orientated HR professional who enjoys variety and helping out wherever needed. You will bring a proactive “can do” approach and and enjoy working on a variety of tasks at a fast pace.

The salary for this position starts at $43.50 per hour or $84,828 FTE per annum plus 10.5% super and not for profit salary packaging. The role is being offered 45 hours per fortnight (3 days per week or equivalent), on a 4 month fixed term contract basis.

You will:

  • Enable the successful digital transformation of our HR function, including optimising our ELMO HRIS and moving from spreadsheets and manual forms to dashboards and digital requests.
  • Using your out of the box thinking skills, provide suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Support managers and employees with HR related queries including the monitoring of the Human Resources inbox, escalating where necessary
  • Administer employment contracts, variations and maintain all associated documentation within the employee lifecycle and employee files
  • Supporting policy and procedure review in line with Secure Jobs, Better Pay Legislation and Respect @ Work legislation changes
  • Track and monitor completion of HR activities, including onboarding/offboarding, probation, recruitment, L&D, employee changes.
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process for assigned roles, including writing job ads, sourcing and shortlisting candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, creating employment contracts, coordinating the new employee onboarding process.
  • Supporting key People & Culture, and Diversity and Inclusion projects

You will have:

  • Previous experience with HRIS implementation, optimisation and digital transformation, ideally using the ELMO HRIS.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Secure Jobs Better Pay act, Respect at Work act and relevant WHS legislation.
  • Process improvement experience
  • Strong organisational skills with focused attention to detail;
  • Written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Completed or be studying towards tertiary qualifications in HR Management, or 1-3 years equivalent work experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, problem solve and take responsible initiative;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest ethical standards;
  • A proactive flexible ‘can-do’ approach to work both collaboratively with a close knit team and as an autonomous effectively focussed achiever;
