This opportunity is on the ground, working at the grassroots level directly with the CEO, Aminata Conteh-Biger to directly impact the lives of women and their babies.

We are recruiting a driven, motivated, multi-talented professional to manage all aspects of the fundraising and marketing efforts required to meet the core function of the foundation, which is to raise funds to save lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The key functions of the Fundraising and Marketing Manager will be:

  • Maintain the AMF website and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to increase fundraising income across major donors, corporate partners, trusts and foundations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day enquiries and donor requests.
  • Manage the existing portfolio of donors and grants, including writing and submitting progress reports, acquittals, and updates.
  • Write and submit fundraising grants, appeals, and bespoke proposals to new donors, trusts and foundations.
  • Research potential new funding opportunities.
  • Plan and implement the calendar of fundraising submissions, events, activities, and deadlines.
  • Managing volunteer event committees to ensure fundraising events meet the core needs of the foundation.
  • Track fundraising income, administer all fundraising data, and maintain accurate records.
  • Support the processing of donations and issuing of receipts and thank you letters.
  • Coordinate a team of volunteers who support AMF with major events and other activities.
  • Work with the CEO to schedule meetings with major donors and other funders; follow up with any information or other requests.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising/sponsorship/marketing (major gifts, corporate, new business or account management) with demonstrated success in building relationships and multi-tiered connections.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage backend systems, including advanced skills in:
    • Wordpress (website maintenance)
    • Raisely CRM
    • Salesforce
    • Google Workspace
  • Demonstrated success working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with shifting and short deadlines.
  • Superior proposal writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an authentic warm and professional approach.
  • Experience managing or engaging successfully with executive-level committees, corporate sponsors and volunteers
  • Strong commitment to AMF Values; ability to adhere to high ethical standards

Desirable

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (marketing/communications/funDraising)
  • An alignment with international development, global health, maternal newborn and child health
  • An alignment in international development philosophy
  • An understanding of the not-for-profit sector principles of fundraising
