Aeon Media Group Ltd (AMG) is a not-for-profit digital publishing and live events company based in Melbourne. We publish the highly successful Aeon and Psyche magazines to a large international audience and present the Sophia Club, live philosophy and arts events in Melbourne, London and New York.
We have a large newsletter subscriber base and social media following, loyal donors, and a growing audience for Sophia Club events, which were launched early in 2022.
The Communications Assistant reports to our Digital Marketing Manager and works closely with our Media Manager and Sophia Club Events Manager.
We are looking for a highly motivated and professional person with a keen interest in ideas, writing and culture, and their promotion to a wide audience. You are likely a recent graduate in humanities, communications, publishing or arts management/marketing. You must be an excellent writer, detail-focused and a keen learner who relishes the idea of working in a culture of excellence. You’ll join a warm and friendly team who support each other and are proud of what we produce each week.
We currently have a team of 25 staff and are headquartered in Melbourne, with smaller editorial offices in New York and London. This role is based in our Melbourne office (applications from other locations will not be considered).
The role is a key contributor to the reader, donor and audience experience across newsletters, social media, marketing copywriting, donor support and events. You will be provided with on-the-job training in our Content Management System (CMS), Mailchimp, Canva, Sendible, Google Analytics, Help Scout, Monday and other platforms.
