The Role

The Project Manager, Urgent Care (12 month fixed term contract) will manage the development, establishment, implementation and ongoing support of the Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) in-line with Commonwealth and Adelaide PHN expectations. Medicare UCCs will aim to improve access to urgent care in a non-hospital setting, particularly for vulnerable groups, and reduce the pressure on emergency department (ED) presentations by providing patients with acute, episodic care for urgent conditions that are not immediately life-threatening.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Project management, including co-ordinate and develop robust implementation and project plans, and implement, monitor and report on project progress and performance (i.e. project reports) and analyse the project, using evidenced based project management methodologies.
  • Identify and provide timely authoritative quality advice on issues affecting the project and facilitate decisions leading to proactive project implementation, including identify emerging pressures, issues, risks and initiate management strategies to address them.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring appropriate consultation, change management and integration occur.
  • Represent Adelaide PHN in the implementation, delivery, and evaluation of the Urgent Care Clinics and proactively promote the public profile of Adelaide PHN.
  • Prepare high level documentation, including business cases, briefings, discussion papers, policies and procedures and any other documentation as required.
  • Perform contract management activities ensuring deliverables have been achieved in a timely manner and ensure invoices are submitted on time as specified in the contracts.
  • Contribute to Adelaide PHN planning and commissioning through identification of community needs related to the implementation, delivery, and evaluation of the Urgent Care Clinics program.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health (e.g. public/allied health, health/allied science), project management or relevant field/experience.
  • Demonstrated high-level skills and experience in project management, including project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, applying project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, research and data analytical skills and capacity to present information and data logically and coherently.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and multi-task to meet key deliverables.
  • Proven ability to liaise and consult with a range of internal and external stakeholders, through high level interpersonal and communication/engagement skills.
