About the assignment

We’re looking for an Early Childhood Education Teacher Trainer who can volunteer remotely (from home) for 3 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program to contribute to sustainable development in the Southern African region. 

About the Partner Organisation: 

Botshabelo's mission is to build capacity, mentor and educate women from under-resourced and rural communities in South Africa in order to care for and impact children in their surrounds. Botshabelo has a care facility for abandoned babies in order to find suitable families for these babies through reunification, adoption or foster care. They also have an Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre catering for children from disadvantaged homes and they conduct training programs for ECD practitioners in rural or low socio-ecomomic areas. This assignment is located within the ECD program at Botshabelo. UpliftED is a Teacher Training Programme partnering into under-resourced communities to empower both teachers and principals of crèches and ECD centres.

About the Position: 

• You’ll work with Early Childhood Educators to build capacity to be able to identify and have suitable skills to manage multiple forms of learning disabilities or developmental delays in the classroom.
• You’ll need to have relevant qualifications and experience as an allied health care worker such as an occupational or speech therapist or special needs educator.
• You’ll gain experience working in a cross-cultural environment in the development sector.
