About the Role

The Social Media Volunteer will play a key role in developing and implementing a social media and content strategy to increase brand reach and community engagement across social platforms. They will assist in driving traffic to the ASRC Cleaning and ASRC Catering websites, and sharing the incredible stories of our enterprises and their staff.

This role will suit a driven, energetic social media expert that has a passion for storytelling and building engaged online communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create engaging content to drive traffic and conversions
  • Monitor and coordinate community engagement
  • Publish content on ASRC Cleaning and ASRC Catering websites
  • Monthly reporting
  • Support the development and implementation of a Social Media strategy ∙
  • Implement content strategy
  • Coordinate content creation with both internal and external designers

What We're Looking For

  • Strong copy writing and storytelling skills
  • Knowledge of social media analytics
  • Experience in using Google analytics
  • Experience using Photoshop and/or other design programs
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience using Wordpress/Squarespace

Shifts

We are looking for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. Shifts can be split and done across any day of the week at ASRC Footscray and/or remotely.

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is both a place and a movement. We are an independent not for profit, whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social wellbeing.

As a movement, we mobilise and unite communities to create lasting social and policy change for people seeking asylum in Australia. We are proud to be owned and run by our community of volunteers and supporters.

The ASRC employs over 100 staff and depends on 1000 dedicated volunteers to carry out programs that support and empower over 3,000 people seeking asylum each year.

The ASRC’s vision is that “all people seeking asylum have their human rights upheld and receive the support and opportunities they need to live independently”
