About the role
The Donor Relations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in our Donor Relations team. The position is a great opportunity for a highly motivated team player to make a significant contribution to raising much-needed funds for schools in disadvantaged communities to benefit their students.
Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and working with other members of the fundraising team, you will provide high-quality administration and coordination support for our national fundraising efforts. Your fundraising, administration and database experience and your can-do attitude will underpin our team’s ability to reach donation targets by building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate, foundation and individual donors.
The position is full-time and based in Sydney CBD.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Providing high-level support for Schools Plus’ fundraising programs through your input to overall fundraising strategy, individual campaigns, donor communications (email, phone, letters), donor research and data collection
- Managing our donor database (Salesforce) by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of information captured; working with our finance manager to capture, track and reconcile donations and payments to schools; producing quality reports and charts for the Donor Relations team and the Board; and identifying ways to make processes more efficient
- Assisting with the creation of donor proposals, reports and other fundraising material and communications with major existing and potential donors
- Managing other fundraising administration including processing donations and thank you letters; maintaining a timetable of funding opportunities, donor reports and other donor communications; and coordinating funding agreements with schools
- Managing allocated partnerships including proposals, reporting, ongoing donor relationships and creating opportunities for engagement with schools
- Contributing to Schools Plus’ strategy and advocacy work through analysis of fundraising data and
- Supporting a range of fundraising events and donor/school engagement initiatives.
About the successful applicant

- Strong fundraising administration/customer service/business development experience
- 2-3 years’ experience using a CRM system (ideally Salesforce) including inputting data, producing reports, managing data segmentation and problem-solving eg when transitioning manual processes to Salesforce
- Experience supporting the integration of multiple systems, including financial systems, and working with large data sets
- Advanced Microsoft suite skills (particularly Excel) and experience using other technology, ideally including Wordpress, Xero, Mailchimp and Office 365
- Strong written and verbal communication and relationship building skills to support donor communications and partnerships
- Demonstrated high-level attention to detail and experience working independently on multiple tasks and projects
- A strong can-do attitude - you’re friendly, excited by the challenges of a growing organisation and ready to pitch in to help the team during busy times.
