• Reports to: State Secretary NSW/ACT, Assistant State Secretary NSW/ACT
• Location: Granville NSW

Coordinate and resource all activities covering WHS and workers compensation for AMWU NSW/ACT. Other industrial activities will be required from time to time.

The position works as part of a team of skilled and experienced industrial officers/organisers who are located in Granville, Wollongong, Newcastle and Albury.

The Work Health and Safety & Workers’ Compensation Officer undertakes the training of HSRs including 5 day course for new HSRs and HSR refresher courses.

• Travel within NSW and some interstate travel required.
• Certificate IV WHS and Certificate IV Training and Assessment (current) essential.
• Working knowledge of NSW OHS and Workers’ Compensation Act, current driver’s licence essential.
• Knowledge of Australian Capital Territory and Comcare WHS and Workers’ Compensation Acts desirable.

The position is a 6 months role with review at the end of the 6 months.
