ABOUT THE ROLE

This role provides a first point of contact for anyone booking or requesting information on AIWA Interpreting and Translation services. The focus of this role is to efficiently coordinate the translation process and manage communications and relationships with our various clients.

AIWA is a community based Aboriginal organisation committed to improving understanding between WA Aboriginal language speakers, service providers, government and others. Cultural protocol and respect is at the centre of all we do.

We are committed to Aboriginal ownership, control, empowerment and self-determination. Through the provision of interpreting, translating and other services AIWA works to ensure Aboriginal people are not put at risk or disadvantaged due to misunderstanding language. AIWA’s mission is to do all that is required to ensure that language is not a barrier for Aboriginal people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client/Interpreter/Translator Relationships
  • Coordination of Translation Process
  • Administrative & Database Management
