The Senior Policy and Project Officer is an established position within our Teaching and School Leadership team and will manage a range of national education initiatives to drive high quality education practices.

As a senior member of a small and collaborative team, the position provides coordination, management advice and delivery of AITSL projects which all focus on promoting and supporting quality teaching and excellence in school leadership.

Typical responsibilities would include:

  • Providing high level policy advice and guidance
  • Making policy connections and proposing solutions in a complex national environment
  • Liaise and develop solid working relationships with project stakeholders including contractors, steering groups and external education bodies
  • Develop fluent written materials such as reports, meeting papers and web content
  • Deliver engaging presentations for a variety of contexts including conferences and seminars
  • Lead and coordinate project delivery, resources and budgets.

We are looking for someone with policy nous who will excel in working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment where no day is the same. You need to be comfortable with multiple tasks, focused on quality results and sensitive to stakeholder dynamics. You will be a confident and positive leader of projects, with strength in stakeholder management.

Tertiary qualified, with extensive experience in public policy related to education, you are a dynamic and resilient leader who loves diversity and complexity in their work.
