We are the Australian Institute of Family Studies, the Australian Government’s key independent research body and advisor in the area of family wellbeing, based in Melbourne. We create and communicate knowledge to accelerate positive outcomes for families and communities.

We are seeking experienced Senior Research Officers (full-time or part-time) to join the Child Family Community Australia (CFCA) information exchange team on a full-time or part-time basis.

The Senior Research Officer will undertake core knowledge translation and exchange tasks of research synthesis and communication, including the writing and preparation of high quality and complex publications, reports, short articles, webinars and other materials for a variety of stakeholders. 

You will:

  • demonstrate experience in research projects relating to child development or family wellbeing, as well as an understanding of policy issues of importance to children, families and communities in Australia;
  • have considerable content knowledge in one or more areas relevant to CFCA, e.g., child protection, family violence, evaluation or child wellbeing;
  • bring your highly developed interpersonal skills and organisational skills, including the capacity to work collaboratively as an effective team member and prioritise and manage workloads; and
  • model our values and be willing to encourage new ideas, experiment, be flexible and consider different perspectives. 

The role will be offered on a non-ongoing basis until 30 June 2019 (with the possibility of extension to a maximum term of three years), at APS Level 5-6 with a salary range of $71,357 to $87,948.
