We are looking for people with an interest in health policy, and strong analysis and research skills, who can work well alone and in small teams.

About the roles

These roles are contract positions (6 – 12 months, with possible opportunity for ongoing work). The salary level will be dependent on qualifications and experience, and ideally you will be employed full-time.

Depending on your experience, you will contribute to or lead the development of AHHA position statements, discussion papers and submissions on a variety of health policy issues. You will also contribute to health policy projects, including on behalf of our members and clients; and be involved in the organisation of events and functions including think tanks, roundtables, workshops and policy and advocacy forums. You will be working with a small, busy team, as well as with our members, government departments, researchers and other stakeholders.

This position would be ideally suited to someone who:

  • Is an enthusiastic and motivated team player who is keen to take ownership of the role and make an immediate contribution to the organisation
  • Has excellent analytical and research skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and a willingness to take on and embrace new tasks and processes as the role requires
  • Is flexible, dependable, easy going and an excellent communicator
  • Has strong interpersonal skills, organisational skills, and a high degree of maturity

Experience working within the health, disability or community services sectors would be highly regarded.

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Australian health system
  • Skills in policy research and analysis
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a small team
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
