The job:
The Medicare Officer manages and maintains accurate financial, provider and client records for Medicare claims and associated processes and procedures.
The applicant responsibilities:
- Liaise with Medical Practitioners on all Medicare claims and related issues.
- Liaise with and train clinical staff to ensure that all appropriate Medicare items are claimed.
- Ensure all electronic claims are processed correctly.
- Maintain an up to date and accurate Medicare records, database and data statistics on all claims.
- Ensures all Medicare stationary is secure.
- Uphold the vision, mission and priorities of the organisation as determined by the Board of Directors and outline in its Strategic Plan.
- Foster a professional and culturally safe work environment through effective management of the Medicare and claims portfolio.
- Work within limits of confidentiality and privacy appropriate to the Medicare and claims portfolio.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes, including work health and safety, to ensure programs and services meet professional and industry standards.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Health Services Section Manager.
