Are you passionate about community organising? We are looking for field organisers to support our federal campaigns across a range of inner Melbourne electorates.
As a field organiser, you’ll work closely with the Australian Greens Victoria campaign team and your local electorate campaign team to implement a field strategy within your assigned electorate.
You will build a team to support our movement to have meaningful and persuasive conversations within your electorate. You will be implementing four key elements of our election campaign at a local level; (a) volunteer recruitment and activation, (b) voter contact coordination, (c) leadership development, and (d) training. As the campaign progresses, further staff may be hired depending on location.
This isn’t your average job: you’ll often work weekends and evenings instead of weekdays, and you’ll need to be self-motivated and flexible – but you’ll meet amazing Greens members from all walks of life, and make a real difference growing the political party that stands up for what matters. If you enjoy working with people and are passionate about building a progressive future, you’ll love this job.
The next federal election could happen anytime until May 20 2022. This election presents a crucial opportunity to put the Greens in the balance of power in the lower house and re-elect Greens Senator Lidia Thorpe.
Required:
The Greens have a proud history of speaking up for what is right, not just what is easy or what polls well. Over the course of the last four decades, the Greens have become the third force in Australian politics.
In 2010, Adam Bandt won the seat of Melbourne, becoming the first Greens MP in the lower house. Since then, Adam has delivered for our values and our community, securing $13 billion for clean energy and getting kids dental into Medicare. Imagine what we could do with more lower house MPs!
The Greens are much more than an environmental party. The Greens are also working in many other areas to champion integrity, decency and fairness. As well as representing constituents, the Greens speak on behalf of those who wouldn’t otherwise get much of a say inside parliament: children, refugees, students, individuals and families living in poverty and, of course, our natural environment.
