You will bring your demonstrated practitioner skills, experience and knowledge to this role. You will: be passionate about assisting people with disability; have a sound understanding of the NDIS; support the rights of persons with disability and advocate contemporary inclusion ideology. You will have an understanding of the challenges faced by many Aboriginal families and communities.
This demanding but rewarding role will require that you have strong relationship building and communication skills and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. You will be expected to demonstrate extensive experience in Disability Services and/or experience in being able to work with Aboriginal communities and representatives across the Government and NGO sectors.
Based in the Northern Suburbs, these roles Support Aboriginal People with disabilities and their families. Under the ‘Be With Me’ project our ‘Navigators’ will help connect Aboriginal People with Disability, to a more included and fuller life.
This role will work to facilitate Aboriginal people with disability, connecting and engaging successfully with the NDIS and will work with service providers to ensure their supports are Disability Inclusive and Culturally Responsive. This includes enhancing connection with mainstream medical, educational, community and other services as well as disability specific supports.
Relevant qualifications will be well regarded.
