ADEC is seeking an experienced, values driven leader to establish strong foundations in our people and culture management to support the organisation’s exciting future directions. With a new Executive Director and building on an impressive history of advocacy and support for people with disabilities and older people from non-English speaking backgrounds, ADEC is aiming to support a more inclusive future for all.

Working with the Board, Executive Director, leaders and staff, the General Manager of People and Culture will develop and lead ADEC’s workforce and culture strategy in support of ADEC’s strategic outcomes. Our new General Manager will also support and advise the Leadership Team and wider organisation on:

  1. Best practice, contemporary people management;
  2. Learning and organisational development;
  3. Workplace relations; and,
  4. Organisational culture and change management.

Key Selection Criteria

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications at Bachelor and/or postgraduate level in people management, psychology, or another relevant field.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resource Management at senior management level.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver a comprehensive workforce strategy.
  • Significant experience of Fairwork, Enterprise Agreements, and compliance processes.
  • Significant experience developing and implementing People and Culture policy, process, tools, and frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead change.
  • Excellent report writing capability.

Highly Desirable Criteria:

  • Lived experience of living with a disability or caring for someone with a disability or the elderly.
  • Experience working with Boards.
