We are Australia’s largest member-based charity for people living with or at risk of diabetes. We have been supporting people with diabetes, their families, carers and friends, for 80 years.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for Marketing Coordinator to join our passionate and dynamic team. This role will be central to the success of Diabetes NSW & ACT education events, through developing and coordinating marketing plans, creating and distributing materials and collateral, and maintaining the content and promotion of events across various channels.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain the event marketing schedule, and ensure the timely distribution of direct mail, email and SMS invitations:

  • Add new events as required from the event plan
  • Ensure any changes to event details are reflected in the marketing schedule
  • Record distribution numbers and reconcile invoices
  • Work closely with Event Coordinators and the wider Health Services team to ensure all events are marketed on time and within budget
  • Develop major event marketing plan to suit timeframe and budget restrictions

Develop and deliver event marketing:

  • Use various databases to create appropriate marketing data segments for mail, email and SMS invitations
  • Adhere to all marketing processes and branding guidelines
  • Create and publish print and digital marketing materials using various tools, such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and email marketing systems.
  • Monitor event registration numbers and develop additional marketing strategies if required, to ensure attendance KPls are reached

General:

  • Follow and contribute to event and marketing procedures and project planning
  • Support the development of new events and programs
  • Contribute to the management of the department budget by tracking expenses and submitting invoices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Qualifications and/or experience in marketing, communications or event management
  • Interest in or understanding of basic graphic/layout design (e.g. Adobe InDesign)
  • Ability to learn new systems and software quickly
  • Copywriting, proofreading and editing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic skill level)
  • Highly organised with exceptional time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Solutions-focused and process improvement mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, while being self-driven and motivated to work with minimal supervision

Desirable

  • Experience delivering direct marketing campaigns
  • Experience delivering digital/social media marketing campaigns
  • Experience using Adobe creative suite including InDesign and/or Photoshop
  • Experience using a CRM system such as Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience in managing end to end events
  • Project management skills
