Australian Catholic University (ACU) is an inclusive community which welcomes students and staff of all beliefs. ACU has over 2,500 staff supporting more than 34,000 students across eight campuses – Adelaide, Ballarat, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, North Sydney, Strathfield and Rome. We've also partnered with Blacktown City Council to open a new ACU campus in Blacktown, Western Sydney, in 2021.
As valued members of our community, all staff members are expected to have an understanding of ACU's mission and values and to demonstrate an active contribution to them.
At ACU we pride ourselves on offering a welcoming environment for everyone. At the same time, we are a university committed to standing for something clear. We stand up for people in need and causes that matter. Our Mission is at the heart of the University, and informs all our actions – integrating the dignity of the human person, the common good, and ethical and social justice considerations into student learning and teaching, research and service.
Since March 2012, Student Engagement and Services (SES) has developed a range of programs broadening the opportunities for students in the co-curricular space at ACU. The ACU Strategic Plan, Students Learning and Teaching Portfolio Operational Plan and the Learning for Life Strategy have shaped the need for the development of such programs and services.
ACU Living and Learning Communities aim to provide the opportunities for student support and development. At ACU, education is holistic and our Living and Learning communities promote academic achievement, health and wellbeing, sport, spirituality, internationalisation, leadership and community engagement.
The University pursues an excellence agenda and offers an environment where staff are welcomed and safe, and valued through development, participation and involvement.
