The ACT Greens are now recruiting for a highly-skilled and versatile Administrator to assist with the smooth running of the ACT Greens Party Office.

About the role

The role of the Party Administrator is to support the smooth running of the ACT Greens’ Party Office by undertaking a wide range of administrative and operational tasks that support party goals and responsibilities.

Organisational relationships

The role will report to the Party Director.

Working arrangements

This is a casual role that has some flexibility with working days and hours (between 15 and 20 hours per week). Some after hours and weekend work for meetings and events will be involved. Hours will be set by agreement between the appointee and the Party Director.

Responsibilities

  1. Undertaking administrative and operational tasks for the day-to-day running of the party
    including:
    1. Acting as the first point of contact for telephone, email and in-person enquiries, interacting with party members, volunteers and members of the public, and redirecting specific or sensitive enquiries to the appropriate people.
    2. Managing correspondence received and sent via the office, including via email and letter.
    3. Supporting operational processes such as preparing the members bulletin, setting up events for online registration, and maintaining records
    4. Undertaking operational tasks and logistics related to events, organising catering, printing and placing orders.
    5. Supporting the ACT Greens’ online presence, including updates to the ACT Greens website and social media channels.
    6. Providing administrative and logistical support for training and development initiatives, campaigns, and voter engagement.
  2. Other tasks as appropriate for the position.

Skills and Expertise

  1. Strong skills in office administration, preferably in small team and resource constrained environments.
  2. Ability to work across multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  3. Ability to prioritise own workload and work independently on routine tasks, and also work as part of a team. Flexibility to reprioritise work according to changes in projects and plans.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Proficient computer skills with experience using Google docs and sheets, website content, and social media.
  6. Attention to detail, including an ability to edit written material and oversee systems that support the Party’s legal and compliance responsibilities.
  7. A good understanding of the Australian political context and a commitment to progressive issues and campaigning.

Remuneration

Private Sector Clerks Award Level 3 as a casual employee. The casual rates for this award are:

  • Weekdays, 7am-7pm: $29.10 per hour
  • Saturday before 12:30pm: $34.91 per hour
  • Saturdays after 12:30pm / weeknights after 7pm: $40.73 per hour
  • Sundays: $52.37 per hour.

This is a casual position for a period of 3 months. There is a possibility of extension, depending on funding.
