  • Location: Any Australian location (east coast working hours preferred) working from home (supported by ACCR), or Sydney or Canberra office.

Role: We are looking for a seasoned analyst with experience in company and investment research, with a desire to make use of company fundamentals analysis in addressing ESG issues, particularly around climate transition planning, on targeted Australian and global listed stocks.

You’ll love this job if:

  • You are skilled at analysing companies - understand the disclosure and data as well and the environments in which they operate, to form views on those companies’ outlook and corporate value and to translate that into compelling accessible research
  • You are driven to making a difference on ESG matters, particularly climate change and driving company transitions towards Paris aligned pathways
  • You thrive leading a team of experienced corporate, climate and ESG analysts, as well as with the wider ACCR team

  • Produce high quality, detailed company analysis to inform and support company engagement strategies, staying up to date on current and emerging issues impacting those companies and sectors
  • Persuasively engage with investors, providing them with the analysis and insights they need in order to effectively carry out their stewardship roles
  • Team lead for ACCR’s research team, ensuring the team is optimally resourced and delivering ACCR’s strategy

Criteria:

We’re looking for someone with these types of skills and experience in the following areas:

  • 7+ years relevant professional experience, with outstanding skills as a corporate analyst, likely obtained through experience as an equities analyst in a financial services or investment institution (not necessarily on climate specifically)
  • Preferably experience covering emission-intensive industries, including oil and gas, coal, power, mining and steel, or the aptitude to learn the particular challenges facing such companies
  • Strong analytical acumen - able to digest complex information, combined with a curiosity to get under the data to the deeper questions and insights
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration with a diversely talented team, in a rapidly evolving environment, with demonstrated capability to play a team leadership role
  • Excellent organisational skills, including prioritisation, attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines, and to move quickly if opportunities present themselves

Accountable to: Executive Director, Company Strategy leads and Investor Relations lead

Manages: ACCR’s company specific and thematic research team

Background: ACCR challenges companies to respond to the most important issues of our time, like climate change and human rights, and in how they treat all of their stakeholders, including workers and First Nations communities. We were founded as a non-profit organisation in 2012, and since that time we have promoted ethical investment and assisted investors through education, research, collaboration, engagement and advocacy. Thanks to a heightened awareness of the importance of our work, and the urgency of the issues - like climate change - that we work on, we are growing rapidly. More information about our latest work can be found in our FY22 Annual Review: Annual Review 21/22 - ACCR

What we offer: ACCR has a dynamic team of over 25 driven and experienced staff, mostly based in Australia. We value peer learning and each of us has a professional development budget. We enjoy flexible work hours and supportive home-based working for those who want it. Personal leave is double the statutory requirement, plus extra leave from Christmas to New Year. Our Employee Assistance Program also includes our employees’ households. Due to our high levels of staff satisfaction and engagement, ACCR won one of Voice Project’s Best Workplace Awards for 2021.
