ABC Friends is a not-for-profit entity that strives to represent the community’s interest in Australia’s independent national public broadcaster. ABC Friends is comprised of independent organisations which exist in each state and territory that work together in national campaigns as ABC Friends

Responsibilities

As the Membership Secretary you will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the management and upkeep of ABC Friends NSW & ACT’s membership records located on the ABC Friends National Inc.’s NationBuilder platform.

Core responsibilities include;

• Monitor online membership activity
• Manage off-line membership activity including:
  • Inputting membership data into NationBuilder
  • Raising credit card payments and making refunds
  • Generating welcome letters and receipts for memberships and donations
• Generating membership renewal and other notices using mail-merge facilities
• Creating and sending email blasts
• Creating membership reports and spreadsheets for use by others
• Answering email enquiries from members, Regional Branches and the public
• Responding to calls to the ABC Friends’ MessageBank service.

Key Selection Criteria

In order to be successful in this role you will need to be:

• Proficient in the use of NationBuilder or similar online databases (Training in NationBuilder will be provided if required)
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word (mail merge & templates), Excel & Access
• Experienced in developing high quality communications content, databases and  campaign emails (email blasts)
• Highly organised, with flexibility to prioritise competing demands
• Able to work independently from within your own work space using your own tools of trade.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills-ability to respond well to members' and others' inquiries

Conditions

You will work as an Independent Contractor with flexible hours of between 10 to 15 hours per fortnight reporting directly to ABC Friends NSW & ACT President.

You will work from your own premises which could be located anywhere in NSW or ACT.
