Your next role

As a SIL Manager with 9D Care, you will provide operational leadership and management in the provision of all SIL services achieving inclusive outcomes for individuals and families accessing our disability service. The position primarily is also responsible for the recruitment of new SIL Participants and procuring new SIL properties and the ongoing relationship building within the NDIS sector and nurturing strong community ties.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of how SIL houses function and should also know how to set up a new SIL house from scratch.

About you

  • A natural leader with a positive attitude, professional conduct, and commitment to provide quality outcomes and service delivery for staff, individuals with a disability and the community
  • Have an understanding of legislative, contractual and internal policy, practice and reporting requirements in the NDIS sector
  • Are self-motivated, well organised, and resourceful and possess a high level of integrity, passion, and reliability.
  • Understand Behaviour Support Practice and its implementation.
  • Will possess a relevant qualification in Disability
  • Have a positive track record supporting people with complex behaviour including intellectual disabilities, complex health, and physical disabilities
  • Working knowledge of the NDIS and the SIL space.
  • A Min Certificate III in disability services, aged care or any relevant qualifications or bachelor’s in psychology, OT, or relevant health field.
  • Experience and skills to work competently alongside people, their family, and carers in their local community to build their capacity to participate in the community and manage some or all aspects of their plan.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS Operational Guidelines.
  • Experience in navigating NDIS systems.
  • An understanding of case management practices and principles.
  • Well-developed communication (both oral and written) skills with the capacity to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Competence in the use of the latest computer software programs and is ability to enter, modify and extract data accurately, including the ability to track funding for NDIS plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and build relationships with existing Participants and key referrers such as Support Coordinators, Plan Managers, Allied Health Professionals, Social Workers and Local Area Coordinators
  • Create new networks and relationships to onboard new SIL participants
  • Finding new SIL homes/properties and setting them up completely
  • Creating a Roster of Care (ROC) and sending quotes to the participant and their key stakeholders
  • Lead Behaviour Support Practice and implementation of plans at the SIL property
  • Creating Participant Support Plans as per the ROC and making sure that the key stakeholders are onboard with the support plans
  • Supervising support staff and services to provide positive support to Participants
  • Responsibility for the SIL Participants onboarding process
  • Supporting Participants, their families, and carers to understand and access the business’ services and policies
  • Attending Disability Expos, Forums, Open days, and Networking events to actively promote our SIL services

Essential criteria

  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Working with vulnerable people card.
  • Double vaccination against covid 19. (Certificate required).
  • Working with Children Check.
  • NDIS workers screening check (Required)
  • Driver Licence (Required)
  • Minimum Certificate III in disability services, aged care or any relevant qualifications or bachelor’s in psychology, OT, or relevant health field.
