2 Birds 1 Bee is a youth-run sex and relationship education project with the mission of hitting ‘two birds with one stone’ – delivering industry-leading educational content to high school age young people, parents and organisations whilst challenging the taboos that usually prevent these conversations from happening.
2 Birds 1 Bee was founded to be at the primary prevention side of social justice. Throughout all our programs there's a strong focus on preventing gendered violence, and benefiting LGBTQIA+ young people who fall through the gaps of traditional sex education. We are passionate about reaching those who in the status quo are left out.
This is a paid casual role. Time commitments are all opt-in - we'll advertise shifts to our pool of facilitators and you can choose the ones that work for you.
Facilitators will lead groups of high-school aged students through workshops. A facilitator must be comfortable presenting to a classroom sized group in an engaging manner, cultivating respectful and thought-provoking group discussions. More than just presenters, a facilitator’s role is to help young people have interesting and engaging conversations in what is for them often uncharted, awkward territories. A superstar facilitator will make that process comfortable, exciting and illuminating.
Beyond workshops, the facilitation team is a great space for group learnings around the topics we teach. We are highly collaborative, with lots of opportunity to get involved across the organisation. Get excited to meet others and have chats!
Extensive knowledge and experience (including personal sexual experience) are not required. The right attitude and motivation is far more important!
Indigenous candidates, people with diverse gender identities, sexualities, racial/ethnic backgrounds and/or disabilities are encouraged to apply.
